My sister owns a fabric and trims store and I wanted to make something special for her shop. She of course keeps me well stock with all types of ribbons, buttons and any other embellishment accessory I may need (I could open up my own store with all her freebies). My sister claims she has not a crafting bone in her and claims she has not imagination and, has no idea what to do and how to display all the trims, buttons and whatever else that she sells. Therefore, I made this fun canvas using pattern paper, her own buttons and trims, some of my own collectibles and oh yeah, I have to thank Karen from The Graphics Fairy where, I downloaded a vintage Paris map and an old dress form.
Maybe this small canvas will get her inspired so that she may create her own special artistic display!

Mixed Media Canvas
Since I have been getting back to my " artistic" roots of drawing (if I had a name for it), I have also been exploring mixed media expressions which I totally love since you can not make any mistakes with all of the different layering and techniques involved.
In this particular piece I was inspired by designer Candy Rosenberg's small canvas mixed media. My youngest son studied in Italy and while there he took some fabulous picture from his travels throughout Europe. While in Italy he also met his present wife and so I thing this piece is very appropriate.
This picture was taken in Venice but it also features some elements of France and Amsterdam as well.
Over the painted canvas I used Tim Holtz papers, Spellbinders die for my frame and other shapes. I collect vintage and vintage inspire ribbons so, I added a small muslin piece for adornment.

Sympathy Card
Good Morning World!
Spring time in SCV it's the best time of the year here, sunny mild days. Other times it's super hot or super cold and windy; therefore I am enjoy our short SCV Spring.
At curent time I am very busy with some personal projects and re-organizing my craft/art studio, where I have found so many things that I forgot I had (no more shopping for a while). During this time I have also found some picture projects and here is one that would like to share.
This is a Sympathy card created for my son's girlfriend, using a little bit of all of my favorite designers: Heartfelt Creations, Spellbinders and Donna Salazar's water color paper.

Valentine's Card
Valentine's Tag and Envelope
Better late than never I say but, I just now got around to editing some of my work and so I'd like to share them with whom ever might be interested in looking at my humble work.
I created this tag and envelope for my son to give to his sweetheart this past valentine's day. Graphic45 papers were used for most of the design along with some other fun embellishments that I collect.

Doll Couture
Couture Tag 2
I am having such a fun time designing these beautiful girly tags; this particular one was a birthday tag for my beautiful and fashionably dressed daughter-in-law. The back of it which I am not showing, I created a pocket and inserted a birthday sentiment and a couple of other journaling and photo creations for her to journal special moments of her birthday and, also created an envelope to put it all together.
Creations: After a bit of practicing my drawing of the body alone (about 20), it has been a while since I have drawn body shapes. I then traced the body onto tracing paper, drew the body on french newspaper design paper. Over the same traced body shape I designed the dress, individually cut each panel onto designer paper. The tag was made out of mixed media elements, stamps (heartfelt creations, tim holts), molding paste, gesso. The flowers from Heartfelt creations vintage rose and embellished with several rhinestones.
Again my inspiration came from Julie Nutting's Couture Dolls

Happy Easter
I love spring, the way my garden smells with its new fresh flowers and herbs. The hummingbirds that every year build a nest outside my kitchen window on a ficus tree. It
re-emphasizes the fact and promise of new life and hope coming at the
end of dark, cold winter. This little guy (upside down) was born on my backyard last year, as you can see his momma is patiently waiting for him to "get a hang of things" so that may take flight together.

Heaven's Very Special Child
Since I am not cooking much these days a good friend of mine has encouraged me to post my paper art pieces and any thing else I may wish to journal.
I am currently doing some "spring cleaning" and ran into this prayer which was given to me many many years ago when I was in a very sad, seemingly, hopeless time. This person, a woman/mom, shared with me this prayer, and her own special situation. I then came to find out that her very own "story" was so much more complex than mine was. Anyway, I have kept this poem/prayer with me for over 30 years and wish to share this with my family and friends, and perhaps it will bring solace to someone out there.

Heaven’s Very Special Child
A meeting was held quite far away from earth. It’s time again for another birth; said an
angel to the Lord.
This special child will need much love. His progress may be very slow,
accomplishments he may not show. And
he’ll require extra care, from the folks he meets down there.
He may not run or laugh or play; in many ways he won’t
adapt. And he’ll be known as
“handicapped”.
So let’s be careful where he’s sent. Where all they want is his life to be
content. They will do a special job for you.
They will not realize right away, the leading role they are asked to
play.
But with this special child sent from above comes
stronger faith and richer love. And soon
they will know the privilege given in caring for their gift from Heaven. Their precious charge so meek and mild;
“Is heaven’s Very
Special Child”
